The Union County Military Family Support Group (UCMFSG) is truly honored to announce changes to the 2025 Decker Scholarships. Due to the generosity of donors, we are able to increase the scholarships to $2,500. AND we are now sponsoring four scholarships for the following schools:
1. North Union High School
2. Marysville High School
3. Marysville Early College
4. Fairbanks High School

The Deckers were a dynamic team for 74 years until their passing in 2019 and 2020. Their decades-long legacy of caring, giving, and community service is truly unparalleled and is the very definition of "selfless service".

In fact, General Decker was the impetus for the formation of our group as he was concerned that local veterans and post 9/11 members were in need of additional resources here in Union County.
​
Requirements remain the same: The individual must be a graduating high school senior, who has an outstanding record of selfless/community service benefitting the local community. Each applicant must show that they have been accepted to a college or university to pursue a bachelor's degree (BA or BS).

Note: This program does not affect the Educational Assistance Grants awarded to veterans and their families annually.

The UCMFSG does NOT solicit funding
Recently, the organization was made aware of a local retailer distributing flyers advising that they would be donating a portion of their fees to our group.
While we appreciate that they would include us in their thoughts, it is important that all our members AND the public know that we NEVER solicit funding through
fund-raisers or other sources.
ALL of our funding comes from direct donations. To date, the response has been outstanding and we are tremendously grateful for the support of the community!
